I recently bought a bed from bedtrader.co.uk and was over the moon with the Tetras metal bed frame. It looked great in my newly decorated bedroom. However there was a problem with the way I had assembled the bed . I ordered the bed in a bundle deal on line via www.bedtrader.com and what a good deal, £109 for the frame and a pine master mattress at £139 with a discount of £12.40 so it came to a grand total of £235.60 which is a good price for a 4ft 6 bed and double mattress I think. The problem was that on these type of metal bed frames the bases have wooden slats and a metal centre rail and for extra support, the centre rail has 2 legs however these centre legs are not suppose to touch the floor they are supposed to be about 2 inches of the floor and only provide the extra support when needed. As usual I did not read the instruction correctly and adjusted them so they were on the floor, the problem is that my new floor was a laminated floor and due to the movement of the bed on the hard surface the central legs were supporting the load and eventually buckled leaving me on the floor with a broken bed, I thought that I had bought a faulty bed and called bed trader who advised me to send in some picture to see what the damage was. They then called me back and advised that I had assembled the bed wrong and the central legs should not be fully extended especially on a hard surface. I was not happy as I felt that this should not have happened on a new bed. The guys at bed trader sent me a new centre rail at no additional cost. I promptly received my replacement part and rebuilt my bed, with the centre legs positioned how they should be off the floor, I have had no further problems and was grateful to the guys at bed trader who replaced my part as a good will gesture even though it was technically my fault in the first place. Top customers service and fast delivery. It’s ok buying things online but a measure of a good on line retailer is how they deal with you when things go wrong. We done BT. Has anyone else had a similar problem or received good customer service from an online retailer.
